Biography

Grady Gaines Douglas was born into the rich musical heritage of Houston's Fifth Ward, birthplace of such legendary performers as Hubert Laws, Arnett Cobb, and Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson. These influences, along with his father, R&B great tenor saxman Grady Gaines, have provided Douglas a wealth of musical experience in the world of blues and jazz from which he draws his unique sound. A sax prodigy, Grady has developed a progressive-contemporary style in the tradition of Kenny G and David Sanborn. Combined with synthesizer driven R&B rhythm, Quiet Storm can play dances and dinner music with equal ease. Add two gospel trained singers and you have a crack 5 piece jazz and blues band whose versatility is demonstrated by their extensive song list.
