The Blue Monks

Biography

The Blue Monks are one of Houston's hottest and highest profile bands. Backed by more than 20 years of experience, they are a flexible ensemble with three to nine musicians including outstanding male and female vocalists. Since 2002 this group has performed at least two "steady" nightclub engagements a week in addition to weekend feature shows, private parties and corporate events. The Blue Monks have won much acclaim for their virtuosity and creativity in the jazz idiom, although it is their ability to showcase many styles of music from Frank Sinatra standards to seductive latin tunes, all the way to classic rock and country songs that sets the group apart. The Blue Monks have shared the stage with artists such as Ray Charles and Norah Jones. They have also been featured on national radio and tv. Each performance is a new experience with these spontaneous musicians, but it is always guaranteed to be entertaining.
