Mike Owen

Biography

I'm originally from N.Y., where I gained my early musical training in Rock, Blues and Pop. I eventually headed Southwest, where I was introduced briefly to Country music, and was soon drawn to Houston and it's diverse musical heritage. At present, my endeavors are in the Jazz field. Maintaining a full schedule of performing, teaching, composing and recording keeps me very busy and excited about music and life. In Janurary 1997, I opened the OwenSong Music Studio, where I'm presently teaching guitar, piano and more. During the prior ten years, I taught both privately and in music stores throughout the Houston area. Currently I'm also teaching "Continuing Education", as well as "Kids on Campus" guitar classes at North Harris Montgomery Communuty College, in addition to maintaining my private schedule.
