Do you know how to breakdown your wedding budget?

Your wedding budget is truly important – especially if you don’t want to face any kind of financial issues once you return from your honeymoon. How do you breakdown your wedding budget, though? How do you make sure you create a budget that’s truly suitable for your pocket and for your dreams as well?

We have gathered some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

·         Your location. Prices for weddings can vary a lot from one part of the US to another (not to mention the price of a destination wedding outside of the United States!). So, to make sure you plan a budget that’s realistic for your chosen location, do some research before you even start discussing other details.

·         You should know how much to pay for each service. Once you have a “total” in mind, you should be prepared to know how much each of the vendors will charge. For example, the wedding venue will usually cost approximately 40-50% of your wedding budget. A wedding planner will also cost about 10-15%, a florist will cost about 10% and a photographer will cost 10% too. To all this, you should be ready to add the price for the attire (usually 5-10%), the music (5-10%) and all the other small costs as well. Remember to leave some kind of “cushion” for the unexpected expenses too!

·         Knowing how to prioritize is very important. If your budget is not extremely generous, you may find that you cannot afford everything to be in the higher range of prices. However, if you sit down with your fiancé and decide on the things that are truly important, you will be able to prioritize those elements both of you really care about.
