Your wedding speech as the best man should be perfect! Take a look at these tips to assist in writing yours:

If you have been appointed as the Best Man in your friend’s wedding, you are surely very excited about the upcoming event. After all, this is your dear friend tying the knot and starting a new life – and you being there for him is really important.

As the Best Man, you will have to deliver a wedding speech that’s truly honest and remarkable. How do you do that, though? How do you write the perfect wedding speech? Here are some tips to keep in mind:

·         There is a pattern. If you feel lost and don’t know where to start, you should know that there is a “template” you can follow. Introduce your speech with a pun or a joke, move to thanking the hosts for the wonderful event they have put together, tell a story about the groom (which, of course, reflects how great he is and how these qualities reflect unto his wife), then wrap up your speech with a nice wish for the newlyweds.

·         Stay sober and polite. Sure, it’s OK to have one or two drinks, but having one too many is a definite no-no. Also, while it is definitely recommended that you insert one or two jokes into your speech, it is also more than important to make sure your humor is not offensive for anyone at the wedding. Avoid mentioning moments that are embarrassing and avoid mentioning exes as well!

·         Start early. Don’t leave your wedding speech writing to the night before the event. Start as soon as possible – this will give you time to craft the perfect speech and it will also give you more time to rehearse the speech and make sure it is absolutely flawless for the Big Day.
