Corporate Holiday Party Bands in Houston
A company holiday party has a harder job than most events. The room holds every age group and every taste in music, there are remarks to get through, and people who rarely see each other outside of work need a reason to stay. The right band handles all of that.
Avalon Music has booked live bands, DJs and ensembles for Houston events since 1993. Below is the roster by style, with a note on the kind of party each style suits. Open any act for videos, samples and song lists.

Start With the Kind of Evening
Dinner, then dancing
The most common company format. Many bands move from quiet background music during dinner to full dance sets, so one act can cover the whole night.
Cocktail reception
Guests mingle and talk. A jazz trio, a string ensemble or a solo musician keeps the room warm without competing with conversation.
Black-tie gala
A formal evening with awards or giving. A big band or a swing orchestra matches the dress code.
Themed party
Winter Wonderland, Roaring Twenties, tropical or ugly sweater. Avalon musicians tailor the performance and attire to a theme.
Variety and Dance Bands
The usual choice when the goal is a full dance floor. Variety bands play hits across decades and genres, which is what a room of mixed ages needs, and seasonal classics can be worked into any setlist.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of band works best for a corporate holiday party?
It depends on the evening. String ensembles are great for background music, jazz or swing creates a sophisticated atmosphere, and variety bands bring dance-floor energy. Seasonal classics can be worked into any setlist.
Can one band play both dinner music and dance music?
Yes. Many bands move from elegant background music during dinner to high-energy dance sets. Avalon can also book separate ensembles for different parts of the evening.
Do the bands bring their own sound equipment?
Yes. Avalon bands are fully self-contained with professional PA systems, monitors, microphones and standard lighting. For larger venues, supplemental sound may be recommended.
Can the band learn a song for our company?
In most cases, yes. Performers can learn custom walk-on music or theme songs. Send requests 4 to 6 weeks before the event. Custom arrangements may involve a small additional fee.
